This 2-day Smartphone Literacy course is designed for Seniors and is covered at a slow pace to cater for suitable and comfortable time for learning. Designed for a complete hands-on approach to learning how to use your Smartphone.

Catered to help you get familiar with the essential and commonly used features of your personal smartphone for communication and lifestyle to kick start your journey towards living in a Smart Nation.

For effective learning, we highly recommend you sign up for this course together with a friend or companion. Learning with a companion is more meaningful and beneficial.

Although this course is conducted in English, due to the nature of learners, do expect a mixture of other languages and dialects that may be conversed from time to time in class.

This course requires the following

  • Bring your own Android Smartphone
  • An existing phone plan (with data plan preferred)
  • Highly recommend you sign up for this course together with a friend or companion though not essential

This course is for

For Seniors (aged 55 and above) with zero to little knowledge or experience on using the mobile phone (Smartphone).

I own an iPhone, can I still sign up for this course?

No, unfortunately you cannot. Well, at least not yet.

What Android smartphone can I bring?

Bring the Android smartphone you currently own but we recommend that the smartphone should not be more than 2 years old. Your smartphone might have different settings, do allow time for the facilitor to explore your mobile phone’s settings.

I’m younger than 55, can I sign up for this course?

Do note that this course is designed to be conducted for slow learners. If you can be patient and willing to put up with possibly slow pace of Seniors you may join this class.

    Yin Leng holds a degree in Computer Science with Management and has been training since 1995 in IT in both the private and public sectors. She is a Microsoft Certified Trainerand a former Associate Trainer with the Civil Service College. Her dedication to training is well liked and appreciated by the participants.

Her experience as a programmer with a local bank, a LAN administrator cum a trainer officer with the Singapore Hotel Association and Training Educational Centre has more than prepared her to train in the areas of Microsoft Office, Internet and Frontpage. She is also certified by ITE as an industry trainer to teach the module on Coaching Skills.
